Meet the Self Narrator.
The Art of Difference came from a place of struggle—an honest attempt to deal with life by turning inward and creating. It wasn’t about falling apart, but about pulling myself back together through the things that have always helped me cope: drawing, painting, writing, reading, and music. The themes I explored naturally leaned dark, which shaped the tone and identity of The Art of Difference.
I’m Shelby. I’m a mother of three, and they remind me every day of what really matters. Our American Pitbull Terrier and gray-and-white tuxedo cat make sure things are never too quiet at home. And Eric keeps me grounded when life gets chaotic.
I work full-time as a web developer. I’ve always been drawn to building things online—it’s second nature to someone who grew up in the ‘90s. Outside of work, I spend time in my garden growing vegetables, herbs, and flowers. I also keep creating: drawing, painting, reading, and writing—always leaning into what feels real, even when it’s dark.
